Rock Bottom

I've hit it hard this past few weeks and it has involved everything.
Fashion, boys, school, made me had my Carrie moment where I just had to disconnect from the outside world and releave my mind from all the tension.
Watching Gossip Girl has been my theraphy and altough is has been fun it has made me think a lot about recent attitudes I've been observing during the latest fashion events.
The glimmering aura that used to embrasse all of them in my mind is vanishing, now more than ever I have confirmed that there is an unglamorous side to every glamorous situation and infact people ignoring this reality are making the industry saturated, vanal and doll.
Every party and runway was for me an oportunity to meet people and fill that thrill that comes from putting on your favourite heels and sliping into a cocktail party surrounded by personalities of the industry and the latest designs. That applied to Fashion Week to, but I've come to the conclution that lately all new recruits to this amazing world are only in love with what may be...
Everyone is a "blogger" when they don't even have a web page or have a clue of fashion's past, history and development. Everyone wants to be a designer without having to sew, and everybody wants to get free gifts and be famous without having to work.
That's the key: WORK
And appart from people not wanting to put a little effort into things there are the ones who just go to have a glass of champagne, register as press and do nothing but occupy a spot perfectly suitable for someone else. Opening a blog isn't a ticket to meet Oscar de la Renta or seat front row, it is a space to share, which can also open many opportunities, but this opportunities come as you work for them. One must learn because in the case you meet Oscar de la Renta, you better know who he is, otherwise you won't even be able to value where you are standing. Worst of all, this people come with inflated egos demanding front row seats or the ultimate goodie bag when nobody knows who they are. But on the other hand, even if you are someone those diva attitudes are nothing profitable. It seems that instead of helping each other to get out of the bucket we tend to pull each others foot and see who can make it out... That's not helping the industry and is only creating rivalities adding to it a negative and unbearable vibe. Only because you are designers it doesn't mean you can't be friends, the fact that you work for different magazines doesn't make you enemies and bloggers shouldn't be seeing each other as competition. That is why I've had enough. I don't have any problems, luckily I haven't staged a scene, but that doesn't mean I like to be a spectator... The dense vibe reaches several rows of the theater. Of course we know that the industry itself has ups and downs and as designers should have a business plan, more buyers should be invited to the shows and seated at front row, which seems rather unlikely they do when frontrowers are the designers family and friends. It is a compounnd of many things, but I am sure that we have to make a difference and change the attitude, and if you are on those parties only for the figs wrapped in prosciutto, then you must better reconsider and back off. There, I have said it.
On other aspects of my life I've just been feeling tired, not passionate any more... too stressed out.
And with all of this things surrounding fashion... even my love for it flanked... but as a little crisis between Chuck & Blair (far too much Gossip Girl I know!) it always blossoms stronger than ever (OH MY I'm corny hahaha)
Love on the other hand , well... is complicated and boys are still like skirts to my eyes...
School, driving me nuts as always, but  has probably made this year more special, so I guess I just need to breath, relax, hold my head high and keep up!

Beauty: Frozen Glance

Fashion shows are characterized by presenting dramatic and crazy trends that make us dream and although it is difficult, as people with style, it's our duty to land these utopian proposals to something we can apply to our daily lives. In the end, the way we successfully achieve a mixture between the real and the surreal is what makes makes us original and attract all eyes, a great thing as Fashion has become a matter of individuality.
Returning to beauty, makeup for SS14 left me speechless. From very lush bursts of color in Chanel, Celine and Balenciaga with it's decorated masks to pure minimalism from Alexander McQueen, Galliano or Max Azria who limited themselves to a thin line of eyeliner.
The catch? the tone.
Something as basic, necessary and beautiful went from black to pure white to contrast with the colors of the season and give a fresh, almost frozen light to our look.
Can't love it or hate ir on less you try it!

Intimate

Style is something that comes from within and has to manifest in the same way layer by layer over ourselves to end in the beautiful clothes we wear.
It all starts with personality, follow by health and then elegant lingerie.
Underwear has an unmessurable power and impact on our final look. First, it makes us feel more attractive as we grow older  (I guess that only applies to girls)  and on the other hand it makes our look more perfect. That's why there are so many options... Thongs are there for a reason, and not to show more skin but because they are more appropriate for some girded garnments.
I'm not a fan, I would go to the other end. Instead of tiny pieces (which usually leave a mark on the dresses) would use Spanx (yes yes "granny pants"), still they trick your body into thinking its thiner and seamslessly mold it too. (Maidenform has excelent options!)
For see through pieces, you should look upon black lace and highwaisted panties... ver sexy indeed!
And when it comes to bras .. there's an entire univers to be unveiled!
The following are the must have bras...
1.-Convertible Bra

With straps tha may be detached and rearranged in different ways depending on the outfit.

2.-Strapless

For clothes that reveal the shoulders or halter neck tops

3.- U-plunge Bra

Allows you to wear clothes that have a deep plunging neckline.

4.-Low back Bra
vestido-escote-espalda-7
It fastens in the lower back not to cut the back cleavages in the back.
With those undergarnments you can rock absolutely every piece of clothes in the market avoiding the hidious "transparent" straps which EVERYONE can see, thong marks, seams marks, the itching from stamps,  and all the problems that come with the decition of going ... "natural".
Avoid all the options above and think that lingerie is equally important!!
It is quite beautiful as well and will make you feel really beautiful!

Beauty: Couleur Caramel

Hey guys!
It's beauty wednesday and today I'd like to share with you my latest makeup findings!
Everytime we talk about makeup I tell you the same story: "I don't wear makeup unless I have an event and even when I do, I don't wear a lot" for that same reason I try to keep things natural and easy. That's why I normally just wear eyeshadow and lipstick, but lately my age, the hormones and stress have brought up two or three imperfections I would like to hide.
Still, returning to my age and my sensitive skin, things like foundation can become a torment by making me feel uncomfortable, and you won't let me lie when I tell you that there is nothing worse then feeling awkward with the makeup you're wearing.
Lately, between runways and debates I've had been looking for a suitable option, never the less I've many times hit a wall because of another point: If I wear makeup, at least I want it to be organic and avoid using chemicals that will long term affect my skin quality. So, as you see, I was reaching a death end until I got an invitation to get to know the recently brought in french brand, Couleur Caramel.
I did not know what to expect, but since my life is becoming an organic regime, the fact that this brand was approved by ECOCERT seemed promising!
And there I was, ready to test the products when the girl proposed to try the foundation. I had no option, If you are going to try something better make it worth the test so I let her put the Hydracoton Foundation on me and then seal it with a Bio Mineral foundation.
I was expecting the itch to start in any moment, but after 5 minutes the foundation had already been absorbed leaving just a smooth finish. That is something that continues to surprise me everytime I wear this products.
Most of them, made from sesame oil, cotton extract and sage water which nourishes and moisturizes the skin. The sealer for example is 100% made from rice poder and is equally absorved in a matter of minutes. After passing the acid test everything went perfect. The eyeshadow, lipsticks and lipglosses are beautiful and combine perfectly with the formaldehyde, parabens, phenoxyethanol and sintolueno free enamels... free of basically everything that make your nails turn yellow and ugly!

I picked purple shades for the eyes and the lips and this was the end result.
No filter, no nothing, natural light and organic makeup.
My favourite by far from all the things I've tryed, or the most accurate for my skin!
I really recommend it! It's gorgeous, flawless, healthy and good for the environment as it comes in cardboard packaging completely recyclable!
You can find it in XABONE!
Try and share your feedback with me!

Peace, Love & Pizza

5:25 PM Prueba 0 Comments

Hello guys!
If you follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram you might have already seen how much I like the mexican brand ethnology.
It is lovely and specialized in original pieces to effortlessly turn every casual look into the coolest!
Their new collection "Tale of Cities" is full of pieces to set your inner globe trotter free. Gorgeous necklaces, the amazing paper bag and statement t-shirts that have become every fashionista's weapon of choice to send a message. Pair them with formal or casual wear, the point is to make it memorable. Something I have done with my brand new T!
Peace, Love & Pizza quite a delicious combo if I may say and quite an attention seeker too, since all of my friends want a t-shirt just like mine :)
It was a distressed-denim kind of day the first time I wore it, together with a pair of wooden wedges and an oversized necklace... perfect for a day at school or a sunny sunday!
To make it more appropiate for an event at night I changed the jeans for a black pencil skirt and caged sandals with a snake printed clutch and a denim shirt to make the look a bit younger. Details? Those vintage pendant earrings I found among my mother's 90's jewellery box. Smokey eyes, Brown lipstick and we are ready to go!

A simple message, delivered in 2 different stylish ways...
Like it?

NOOK FW14

Hey Guys!
Last week was a thrilling one!
I had the honor of meeting Jean Paul Gaultier and after a quick change of clothes, the collections from 4 great mexican designers.
The fact that there is a platform that gathers local designers is admirable, but in my opinion organizers should pay more attention to the sitting problems that have manifested themselves in the last two editions, in order to prevent the jeopardize of the events quality.
