For me, fashion isn't just a bunch of pretty dresses.
It is history, art , culture and a way to express your true self, or as Miuccia Prada once said: "Instant lenguage"

Hi, my name is Roberta Woodworth. I am a writer, fashion enthusiast, and student, creator of My Vintage Armoire, a Fashion Blog, where I’ve been sharing my view of the fashion industry, my style and a bit of my goals and dreams for the past four years.
I live in Mexico City and am currently in my senior year of High School.
I’ve also collaborated with several fashion editorials such as Elle Mexico at their PR department as well as for their online platform, Quien.com, Instyle and Life&Style since I was 15. Right now apart from that, I’m an Editorial Advisor for the Fashion section of the Reforma newspaper in Mexico and am a contributing beauty editor for Finding Ferdinand New York as well as Almabox Latinamerica!

I opened this blog with an urge and the illusion of sharing my dreams, goals and view of fashion.
I'm the daughter of a former model and an architect who have, like my grandma, had a huge influence on my sense of style.
Because of these stylish beings, I've inherited beautiful vintage pieces such as the first pair of earrings my grandfather gave to my grandma, custom made Versace vests from my dad, Herme's scarves, 1950's Gucci bags or Dior pieces, pieces that are not only beautiful, but impregnated with my family's story, which makes them a treasure and the main reason why this blog is called My Vintage Armoire.

This is a space I wanted to share my style, thoughts, dreams and goals since I was 14 and 2 years ago, after a summer at Berlin Fashion Week is when I finally decided to start this project. I've been really lucky and feel extremely grateful for the opportunities that have come to me through My Vintage Armoire This past couple of years have been amazing and I feel very happy and honore to e able to share some of my accomplishmets with you:
  • Intern at the PR department of Elle México
  • Web Contributor for Life&Style
  • Web Contributor for Quien Magazine
  • Web Contributor for Elle Mexico Diseña
  • Editorial Advisor of Moda Reforma
My Favourites...

Designers
Karl Lagerfeld was the one icon that trully gave me the courage to declare my love to Fashion. He says what's on his mind, is faithful to his style and is not afraid to go against the current to create something wonderful, avant garde and yet always elegant.
However, the King of Class has to be Oscar de la Renta, who devoted his entire career to take our breath away and dress the most sophisticated women. I had the honor to witness one of his last shows, before his passing 6 months later and it was until now by far one of the most magical night of my life. Diane von Fusternberg designs the sort of garnments I would wear to go to work and look seductively beautiful on a daily basis. Colorful, comfortable, ladylike wrapdresses that make women look polish and classy. Josep Font tores sighs with every single collection. He's designes take me to a land of fantasy with vaporous dresses and hand embroidered blouses and lots of shimmering fairy dust. Taking a completely different approach Nicholas Ghesquiére focus on a mixture between retro and futurism quite intriguing to the eye. Last but never least DKNY and Alexander Wang who manage to mix urban vibes with great style. Regarding mexican designers I really like the artisanal job of Iván Avalos, the flawless patronage from Rolando Santana and the futuristic proposal of Isaac Rankuroi.

Accesories: Chunky, big, flamboyant, oversized necklaces, aviator sunglasses, bangles.

Bags: Chanel Boy bag, Proenza Shouler PS11, Fringed bucket bag, Burberry backpack.

Shoes: Alaïa, Manolo Blahnik, Ralph Lauren.

Fashion Faux Pas: crocs and socks (wear them at home were nobody can see them), wear clothes that don't fit your size or figure, wearing summer clothes in the winter and vice versa. SWEAT PANTS = ONLY FOR THE GYM! The one reason to wear sweatpants on a daily basis would be as a sighn of defeat.

My Style:
I would describe it as edgy, because I'm always trying to mix it up a little and be distinctive without ever loosing the esscense of elegance. I'm always trying to take risks and make a statement in a classy and chic way.
The way I combine my clothes depends entirely on my mood, but it's always with that basic princeple, even when I'm wearing a sporty long shirt and sneakers.

Makeup:
MASCARA! I can't live without it!
Altough in my bag I always carry chapstick, a nude and a colorful lipstick.

Must Have's:
Leather Leggings
Denim Shirt
White/Black t-shirt
well-fitted jeans
Rain coat
Little black dress
Oversized necklace
A Pair of nice, comfortable stilhettos.

So, this is a bit of my story and I can tell you something, just like David Bowie: "I don't know where I'm going but I promise it won't be boring"
